Among them, light rail fishplates, also known as track plywood, are often used in lighter track systems; heavy rail fishplates are used for heavier track systems, such as heavy-load railway transportation; and lifting rail fishplates are mainly used for lifting rails.

In addition, there are insulating fishplates, which are all made of high-strength composite materials. They have the advantages of corrosion resistance, rust resistance, UV resistance, non-conductivity, and non-magnetic conductivity, and are suitable for track environments that require special protection.
