The Difference Between Flange Bolts And Ordinary Bolts

A flange bolt consists of three parts: a hexagonal head, a flange plate (with a gasket and hexagonal fixing integrated), and a screw (a cylindrical body with external threads). It is mainly used to fasten and connect two parts with through holes. It is a common fastener that is favored for its precise endurance and wide range of applications, such as highway and railway bridges, industrial and civil buildings, heavy machinery, etc. In contrast, ordinary bolts usually refer to bolts with low strength requirements, usually 4.8 grade ordinary bolts, which have lower hardness.
In addition, flange nuts differ from regular nuts in terms of design and usage. Flange nuts, also known as pad nuts or serrated nuts, are mostly used for pipeline connections or in situations where the contact surface between the nut and the workpiece needs to be increased. It is usually used in conjunction with flange bolts and has anti slip teeth, increasing the contact area between the nut and the workpiece, thereby improving the fastening effect and tension.
